In 1976, after purchasing a 100-acre homestead in Lebanon, Kentucky I (Jack Bickerest) first started gardening trying different growing methods. In 1985, we moved to our current 4-½ acre plot in Shelby County, TN. After gardening for ourselves for many years, and wishing to connect to our community “Jack’s Farmacy” was established in 2012.
Production Practices: Jack’s Farmacy is a small-scale production garden using organic spin-farming methods. We use composted horse manure and wood chips from a stable located just across the street. Only OMRI approved insecticides are used.
The Bring It Basket: This fall season will include: kale, turnip greens, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, spinach, lettuce, carrots and cabbage.
